For the third consecutive year, the Niwot Timberline Symphony Orchestra will be performing at the annual Niwot Nostalgia Day. We are pleased to be a part of this celebration. Smaller groups composed of Timberline musicians, such as Ptarmigan String Quartet, also perform at other Niwot events, such as the Christmas celebration and others throughout the year.

Born in Colorado Katie Mahan began her piano studies age four with her mother, Bobette Mahan. She gave her first solo recital at the age of six, and has since performed throughout Colorado and the Rocky Mountain Region, Utah, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Hawaii. She has also performed outside of the United States in France, Germany, Switzerland and Japan.

We are happy to welcome her back for an encore performance with the Niwot Timberline Symphony Orchestra.

Manuel de Falla: El sombrero de tres picso (Three-Cornered Hat): Suite no.2 (Three Dances).
Alberto Ginastera: Four Dances from Estancia
Orchestral Poem, composed this summer by Daniel Brito, mixes elements from native music of South America such as Yaravi (an Inca dance) with Spanish music.The harmonic language of the piece remains somewhat impressionistic while the rhythms reveal the vernacular characteristics of the piece.
